Laid Off, Now What?
It’s likely that your network has remained untouched while you have been employed. Unfortunately, we are hearing about lay offs regularly. If you find yourself in this position here are some tips to help you get back on your feet.

Do not be ashamed. While layoffs can be intimating it often is not a reflection of the employee. Withdrawal won’t help your situation, reach out to your network for support.
Get out of the house. With more time on your hands it might be tempting to stay in and binge your favorite tv show. Search for networking events or happy hours in the area to attend. Even reach out to friends to see what they may be attending.
Let your network know. LinkedIn in a great place to announce job changes or searching. It puts you on the radar so people can think of you when they hear of opportunities.
Treat your free time like a Job. With your new found freedom schedule time each day to work on job search activities.
