Tips for Getting Back into the Groove of Socializing!
Everyone is feeling the excitement over the world opening back up again. Family celebrations, dinners, and general socializing are at the forefront. Whether you're a pro or someone who finds these social gatherings tiring we want to help you re-acclimate!
1. Planning: When making plans be sure to discuss the comfort level for all involved in the social gathering. Is everyone up for a daylong event or should you ease in with a shorter meet-up?
2. Embrace awkwardness: Address the elephant in the room or ease into conversations with a joke about how strange it is to be in person, you may not be the only one feeling that way.
3. Prepare questions: Remember that asking open ended questions is a great way to keep the conversation going. Have a few "go to" questions so that you can easily engage in conversation. Some of my favorites, what cool trips do you have planned? Or what was your best vacation?
4. Find something in common: Connecting with people on a common interest or topic can make the conversation flow easily. Vacations, hobbies, and pets are all great options for seamless conversations.
5. Show grace: Do this for yourself and others. Realize your social limits may have shifted due to the pandemic and acknowledge that is it alright to feel drained.
