Networking skills lead to your dream job opportunity

1.Take advantage of advisors and professors: They are knowledgeable in your area of interest and are free resources that can help you find job opportunities and other ways to get involved and connected on and off campus. If you have interest in a particular field, identify them and reach out to those professors even if outside of your major!

2. Campus clubs and career fairs: Commit to attending activities, career fairs, and other associations that will help you meet people who have similar passion or expertise in your area of interest. Staying connected either on campus, by email, or through socials can help to build your network.

3. Power in social media: LinkedIn has become a significant resource for college students and young professionals to build a network. Many companies post job opportunities, have active recruiters, and share resources to help you find careers of interest!

4. Don't forget your personal network: From part-time job, sports, hobbies, religious affiliations, family, and friends; these are all networks of people who you can connect with. While they may not be working in a career of interest, be careful not to discount the people they may know and could make an introduction.
